A fundraiser event for the patients of Prostate Cancer called “Ride for Dad”, has been schedule for June 19. It is initiative by Northern Cancer Research Foundation.
Tannys Laughren, NCRF Executive Director, said that every year, the event witnesses as many as 100 participations helping them in raising at least $20, 00030,000 of funds.
"We have lots of interest and a great committee that is spearheading this thing. And we had 13 bikes out for the proclamation Thursday evening”, he added.
Mayor, John Rodriguez announced that the June 14v to June 20 will be marked as Mayor John Rodriguez throughout the city.
This year’s event will be the 10th-annual ride. The funds raised in the event will be sent directly to patient care at the Regional Cancer Program in Greater Sudbury. The registration helpline for the event is: 523-4673 and the fee for the same have been fixed at $25 per head.
The fundraiser event has, till date, managed to raise an amount worth $261,000.
The organizers are looking forward for enormous participations, this year, with groups like Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers, Chariots of Light, Sudbury Wings, Southern Cruisers and Harley Owners Group coming in.
