Center Tseng Wen-ting, who led Yulon Luxgen to its fourth title in the team's history last week, was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of this year regular season for the first time in his career.
In the meantime, the player had also bagged the defensive player of the year award during the ceremony and was chosen as one of the five best players in the Super Basketball League (SBL), a seven-tam league that was set-up in 2003 and is country’s major basketball competition.
The 25-year old player led the league in rebounds and assists, a rare feat for a center.
While talking to reporters, the player said, “In fact, I thought I had a better chance of winning (the MVP) last season.”
“As for this (the defensive player of the year award), I've had plenty of those,” he added.
On the other hand, the Luxgen, which beat defending champion Dacin Tigers 4-2 in the best-of-seven finals last week, became the big winner of the evening.
