RCom decides to make Reliance Infratel as a separate entity


Fighting hard to keep the company in healthy mood and still keeping it as a secure business from other telecom and broadband players, including Mukesh Ambani-led RIL, Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications has recently said that the company has decided to separate tower business of its telecom arm.

The company also mentioned the fact that it was in advanced stages of finalizing the company as one of the separate entities in its umbrella.

Notably, the move is expected to cut the debt of the company wherein the telecom major has also decided for a strategic sale of 26 per cent equity in the company. It may be noted here that as the deal is finalized, it will make Reliance Infratel the world's largest telecom infrastructure Company and will also help RCom to curb its debts.

The boards of Directors of RCom and its subsidiary Reliance Infratel has recently approved the process of restructuring. Anil Ambani, Chairman, RCom, said that he is personally looking for a state of co-operation among the players especially at a high a level among the recent winners of the 3G and BWA spectrum.
